Crafty jewelry: Valentine Gem set Ring
Valentine's day is here, Love is in the air, blossoming in the air with roses, chocolates and balloons.A perfect day for a perfect proposal from special someone who would go down on his knees with a beautiful ring in his hands!! Hmmmmm......Doesn't happen all the time right?
Okay there is nothing I can do about the proposal, but I can do something about the ring. This Valentine's day I am going to help all of you make a pink tourmaline (look alike only !!) and pearl ring. May be that would just give him the hint ;)
Again the stones I have used are from an old link bracelet and the pearl is from an earring whose pair I lost. Time taken 5 minutes...so make it and wear it right now !!
I apologize for not posting step wise pictures as I was in Delhi participating at the Abhushan Summit for the last 2 weeks. More on that later.

Step one:Cut a 16 inch piece of 18-20 gauge wire, more for larger ring sizes. Find your desired size on a ring mandrel and work with one size larger. Now there are 2 ways in which you could proceed Easy and Easiest
EASIEST
Step two:Center the wire over the mandrel. Wrap one side of the wire around the mandrel and wrap the other side around the mandrel in the opposite direction. The band should now contain 2 strands of wire.

ornament craft: Making felt doves
a felt dove ornament
I mentioned it last week, but I realized some of you may have missed it: everyday this week I will have instructions for a new handmade ornament. You probably caught on by now, seeing it’s wednesday and look! another tutorial. This is my christmas gift to you–all my readers! I’ve said it before, but I mean it: you are awesome. And you deserve a present, or five.
This little bird takes four strips of felt and five stitches to make. Really, that’s it.

Paper Bunting Banners In All Shapes And Sizes: Great Anytime Or As Last Minute Succah Decorations!
Bunting banners are all the rage on the crafting scene, and for good reason! They have a wonderful vintage charm, and are so easy to make, whether you prefer to sew them from your favorite fabric, or craft them from paper. While most of the bunting banners I've seen are constructed from flags in one size only, I decided to experiment with a mixture of paper flags in different sizes and shapes, and the results are so festive and charming, I think I'll be making a lot more of these in the future!
Bunting banners are great Succah decorations, whether strung across the Succah or used to decorate the walls, you can customize them in so many ways. Make a string of flags to welcome the Ushpizin, or even spell out a holiday greeting. You can decorate your whole Succah in no time, and the results will be fun and festive. Or if you have a few blank walls in your home calling out for something decorative, why not string up a few of these?
You'll Need:
- Paper or light weight cardboard
- flat curling ribbon (or string)
- metallic round stickers (optional)
- glue or tape

Paper Party Decorations - Accordian Folded Starbursts & Medallions, For The Succah Or Anytime!
What can I say? These are really quite simple to make and yet so stunning, hung flat on a wall or from the ceiling. You can glue two back to back for a more dimensional hanging ornament, and even use really large paper for wall decorations that will not only look amazing as space fillers, but will certainly require less effort on your part! It takes the same amount of time to make a large medallion as it does a small one, so give it some thought.
You'll Need:
- paper, color, weight and size according to your needs, these were made with A4 laser paper.
- needle and thread, or if you're lucky to own a very long armed stapler, that could work too!
- 2" scalloped craft punch and tiny flower punch
- a regular stapler or high tack glue, or double stick tape

Paper Party Decorations _ Easy Peasy Garland, Perfect For The Succah!
Isn't this sweet? If all you do is make many long ropes of these and string them across the walls and ceiling of your Succah, you can have a totally modern and gorgeous Succah, even breathtaking! Really! Though if you want to go for breathtaking you'll need quantity and no other decorations what so ever. Got it? Sort of like a modern 50's/60's art installation if you happen to know what I mean. And if you've got kids 6 or 7 or older, they can easily do a great job turning out a bunch of these!
You'll Need:
- colored paper, preferably card stock, though used laser paper
- a glue stick
- fishing line
- a 3" circle punch
- a 2" scalloped circle punch
- or alternatively, a bunch of colored round stickers in a few sizes, even easier!

crafts for christmas: Snowflake Monday
This is yet another flake that reminds me a little of bicycle spokes. It is one of seven variations I worked trying to duplicate an etched snowflake on a glass. I often keep doing the same flake over and over and over when I'm designing, with minor changes each time, until I get the pattern just right.
You may do whatever you'd like with snowflakes you make from this pattern, but you may not sell the pattern. Thanks, and enjoy!

Pom pom maker
This is a tutorial for making pom-poms using your
fingers. This one is a small, two-finger pom-pom
(about 1" in diameter) but you can make bigger ones
by using more fingers. As far as yarn choice, thinner
and softer yarn will make a more pleasing pom-pom.
